About the Artist

Ruth Palombo Weiss was born in Washington D.C. and grew up in Montgomery County, MD.  She graduated from Boston University with a B.A. in English. She worked as a journalist and feature writer from 1963-2016, first for the National Institutes of Health and later for local newspapers in Montgomery County Maryland, as well as for national magazines and a number of professional association journals.  While writing and raising her children she also pursued a number of art media including painting, printmaking, ceramics and sculpture.   
She moved to Boynton Beach FL in October 2005.  Currently she is concentrating on painting landscapes, both outdoors, “en plein air”, as well as in her studio.  Her favorite subjects are landscapes featuring water, marshes and flowers.  Currently she is a member of Plein Air Palm Beach and loves going out with that group for outdoor painting sessions.
